Looking for games similar to Planet Crafter and No Place Like Home

Main Post:

Like the title says, I'm looking for other games like Planet Crafter and No Place Like Home. I apparently really love the progression aspect of having to terraform and clean up the world in order to makeit more liveable and unlock more tech (animals, gadgets, etc)

But I also like the more stylized art style of these too, I'm not as keen on high realism graphics.

Any suggestions? I saw some people compare Planet Crafter to subnautica, but deep ocean is.. not for me

Top Comment:

No Man's Sky is similar to Planet Crafter and Subnautica, but it doesn't have the terraforming aspect of the former.

Maybe you'd like Dragon Quest Builders 2; it has you restoring various areas throughout the story, but in a more Minecraft style.

What are some good modern horror movies similar to A Quiet Place?

Main Post:

The anticipation and overall "stress" around horror movies is my favorite. But it has to balance out with scary things actually happening. The reason I say this is because I've been looking for more modern horror movies and I've watched a few recommended ones which were The Lodge (2019) and It Comes at Night. Both were pretty recommended on some other threads I found but they really were just all anticipation and no result. Like for The Lodge It kinda just dragged on with em freaking out in the house, like I thought there was gonna be some paranormal shit that would kinda lead up to a climax where they gotta try to escape the house or die type of thing but it was kinda tame all throughout. And for It Comes at Night It never explained anything and just dragged on. The ending was predictable from the start. When they found the dog infected I thought it'd lead to something really intense where maybe the people they killed while driving to Will's house came back as infected and would like try to break in. I thought y'know, they'd have some really intense scenes at night where they're lost out in the woods and gotta run for their lives or something. But it just kinda ends in a little scuffle and then roll credits . If it helps, some horror movies I really enjoyed were Cloverfield, A Quiet Place 1 and 2, Vivarium, It 1 and 2, Hereditary, Smile, Candyman, Us, liked some of the alien scenes in Tomorrow War, Annihilation, Nope, The Platform. Some of those might not be horror movies but I liked the horror elements that may have appeared in em. TV series are also good but I can't think of any horror shows I've seen recently that were good. If y'all got any recommendations I'll take em. Please and thank you

Edit: holy shit this community is awesome. I've never had so many replies this quick. Ty for all the recommendations!

Top Comment: The decent, apparently there's 2 different endings tho

Alternatives to newTumbl?

Main Post:

Looks like newTumbl is gone. Has a successor emerged yet?

Top Comment: There's bdsmlr and reblogme. Both are pretty much Tumblr clones. Bdsmlr is more active, but the site is glitchy and unresponsive a lot. Reblogme runs smoother, but nobody's there it seems. Instead, I'm putting my money on Pillowfort. I was Dexx on Tumblr and newTumbl, and I've got the same name there. The staff is active and communicative on Pillowfort, and you get the sense they're trying to do their own thing rather than just copy Tumblr. https://www.pillowfort.social/Dexx If anybody wants an invite, hit me up. Users can invite three people a month. If you don't have an invite, you can pay a one-time $5 fee to join.

Does any fast food or similar type of place serve breakfast all day (that's NOT sonic)

Main Post:

I'm looking for somewhere to get some breakfast food in the middle of the day that I don't need to sit down and eat with a plate, fork, etc, and I'm just kinda over Sonic

Anyone with any ideas?

Also not looking donuts

Looking for Ham egg cheese, sausage egg cheese, handheld breakfast burritos, that type of stuff

Edit: obviously doesn't need to be fast food, but I'm assuming any place that fits the criteria I described will be of a similar nature if not actually a fast food place

I miss Sweet Tomatoes. Is there any place similar around the bay?

Main Post:

I'm still sad it closed down. Of all the places I grew up with ,this one had a very special spot in my heart. Is there any vegetarian style buffets like ST around the bay?

[IIL] The Talking Heads - This must be the place (Naive melody)

Main Post:

Been listening to the Talking Heads a fair bit recently. Actually only stumbled across this song on YouTube after the usual trawl in the suggested section, David Byrne is a talented guy.

I'm not specifically looking for anything Talking Heads related just similar sound from other artists. The song itself has such a unique sound to it, each day I listen to it whilst working and the work just goes out the window and lie in a trance mesmerised. It sounds like something you'd hear on Fever 105 on Vice City (for those who can relate).

But anyway, just looking for something similar- funky, chilled, hypnotic and 70s/80s if at all possible!

Thanks in advance.

Edit - Thanks for all your recommendations folks, you have given me plenty to check out and I'm really grateful. I have no doubt I'll catch a similar vibe in some of those. Now it's time to chill out with some wine and traverse the depths of YouTube for some hidden gems.

Top Comment: Talking Heads is my favorite band, This Must Be The Place my favorite song, it's awesome you're discovering them. While I would highly recommend listening to Remain in Light and watching Stop Making Sense for more TH stuff I think a band with a similar vibe to this specific song would be LCD Soundsystem. Listen to Home, Dance Yrself Clean, and I Can Change. Oh and All My Friends too. I think they match the happy/sad for the past, sweet, yet lots of pint up energy feel that this song in particular gives off. Have fun!
